Takedowns that did nothing, from what I remember, no ground and pound, or submission attempts, just back up again some few 10 seconds later and a cut that for one isn't that severe and secondly might have been a rebust from the constant sparring Strickland does... His face was already marked up coming in.. anyway is what it is I don't dislike dricus as new champ, he got some good hits in too but I thought 3-2 Strickland and like ^Bizz said, it wasn't enough to get the belt...but in this new MMA era in the UFC it is..

I wonder if it is rematch or if Izzy "yeah niggah" adesanya gonna get it...

still takedowns in general, have to mean something, and in a close fight, add up to be the difference. same with the bleeding, judges have shown over and over again they dont know shit. so if they see blood, id imagine that holds a lot of weight to them. same situation with the sidey fight, face is covered in blood, close fight, other guy has to win on damage

but i dont think a guy who just won the belt, automatically gets the benefit of winning the fight just because it was close. long time champs tho, for sure (perfect example jon jones)

Hm.yeah that one is on the table too maybe(?) But is chimaev well? Also how many wins does he have at 185, is it one or two?

I don't think he will cut the line, buy maybe, don't think he should though

i dont personally think khamzat has earned a title fight at 1885, but if adesanya stays true to staying out of the ufc for a while, theres not a clear next in line. i dont think strickland necessarily deserves an immediate rematch, i just think there styles would make for a fun fight. but it did look like adesanya was kind of promoting it in the stands, so well see

Well... If it's just a takedown that doesn't so anything, no threat, no dmg, no significant control time, etc... I dont think it should count for much if anything.

But you're right it can mean some to some judges, cause they're tripping on shrooms.

Lol yeah John Jones got pretty lucky with the judges at the rayes fight..

Adesanya is a bit tricky too, cause he has lost 3 fights lately... like 3/4 isn't it? so adesanya vs chimaev for the N1 contender...maybe.

Although it is a bit skipping the line so I really don't know, I should check the top 10 list before I talk, tho it don't really matter what I say.

It is an interesting point that brings up though...

Maybe there were an overwhelming ton of support bets on Strickland, big money involved for that one side...
we can't pretend judges aren't corruptable... But I've seen worse decisions, though I thought Strickland won pretty clear.

It could also have been the talk that maybe offended some woke judges. Maybe pressure from political players like turdos higher up associates, after calling out Trudeau and the banks for freezing bank accounts during the trucker protests....
Or big money from Vegas/bookies.... Or of course incompetence, or maybe they just saw something I didn't..

But I don't see how Strickland didn't win, to me pretty clear for 1,2 &5... Vs 3&4, more DMG overall and yeah... But the UFC these days man... It's just a little odd

What were the judges score cards like? Imma rewatch the fight later, still haven't downloaded the card.

7/12 fights ended by decision, 4 of those decisions were controversial

sidey 100% won that fight,

strickland fight was tied 2-2 going into the 5th, no freaking idea how you score round 5 in favour of ddp after he got out stuck significantly & got stuffed twice.

siding with dana on this one, you need a definitive win to gain the belt by decision.

every single decision involving a title fight should automatically favor the champ if it’s close. good fight i won’t put that past them tho but ddp did nothing significant in my eyes that he deserved that belt.

strickland looked sharp as hell last night

Also Canada so nice. We're the only country that rigs the judges scorecards for the other countrymen to win 😭😭🀣
