This is coming from many state education departments.
Lot of reasons behind it apparently

Covid decline
Homeschooling benefits
More private and charter schooling options
Personal beliefs

I personally think the existing school system just pumps out robots incapable of basic comprehension tbh
More burger flippers and cashiers I guess

Yeah…. The ones I see come out of home schooling are either dumb af or have extremely odd ticks and social skills. The basic comprehension comes from abuse of current technologies and I only see that widening the gap of skill and no skill.

I suspect there's some home schooling going on but, when you google what hes talking about and look at the report, the concentration is in impoverished areas. They are probably not getting home schooling or going to school.... and as a result I doubt they're even going to be the ones flipping burgers later in life.

Result of gender theory I would imagine.

I won’t be sending my children through the public school system.

They don't even offer 5 day public school week in my jurisdiction. Thats why the school rank 3/10 and nearby 5 day school in next county 8/10. US Education so fucked

No one in their right mind would send their child to a public school in 2024 unless they absolutely cannot afford the price of a private or Christian school

Great way to traumatize your kid for life and set them up for failure

It's 4 days a week here
I guess they're conditioning the next generation to only work 4 days a week

has been the subject of discussion for my friends/professionals i know who have good jobs.

the state of public school system is just garbage. they churn out this extreme leftist propoganda and dont actually teach kids real life skills.

looking more into homeschooling/private options with help from grandparents (mom and dad).

personally, private boarding or homeschool is where im leaning. as for social skills, this is what sports, team based extracurriculars are for. went golfing one day with my dad and met up with a grandfather and his grandson. 12 yr old kid, homeschooled his whole life, had minor quirks that are normal for a 12 yr old but overall very respectable and knew how to communicate. kid was also stellar at golf at 12.

This is simply fact. Nobody homeschools properly. Even public schools are better.

I'm not sure what options there are in your area, but Christian schools are more or less the gold standard. Protestant or Catholic depending on your affiliation.

In my town there's a Protestant school and a Catholic school and they both routinely produce great graduates, known alot of people from both. Very normal people too, not hardcore bible-thumper Christian schools (which also exist)
