D2r = Copy of D2 its same games played 20+years now again Full of BOTS so difference now is that items are just 5-10x more price like was in d2lod.. but there is alot more Bots for sure.
D4 = yes, this is new age console diablo game, its more like D3 but better so ideal for your Couch and Xbox console and big TV.
If you want to do same things like was done in diablo2 for 23 years now, BOTS, jsp trades, collecting ber rune shako and after 3-4 months reset and start again, you can play D2r or D2lod
