Looking for advice on how to "optimize my character"

Essentially what gear I should have/what to do next/what pet I should have. I'm currently lvl 24.5 (and I know cap is 25) but I know there's a lot of things I should be doing right now (I've only played WoW for about a month)

do the ashenvale grind. get WSG rep.

Get most of the runes including the tanking rune.

Level professions to 150/150.

Farm 20-30gold.

Think those basically set you up for P2, which starts in less than 2 weeks. Theres things you can do to min/max but its not crucial
