Loading up on this lately as I've started looking at splitting some of my portfolio into dividends.

They seem to be doing well. Thoughts?

Thinking of moving a 6 figure sum into them in the near future in an rrsp

Unless I'm looking at something different. The only reason you're in it is because of the dividend. That makes the majority if not the entier return given they see very little actual price growth since rather than retaining they're paying out.

Yep

The biggest downside to keep in mind is they are not subject to capital gains tax benefit. I’m not sure about Canada but in states approximates to almost 20% savings in taxes at upper brackets

So I'm looking to make the large move now and since this is in an RRSP or a retirement account, there shouldn't be any tax implications until withdrawal, and even then it's just the withdrawals that are taxed as ordinary income

Retirement accounts are the best places for dividend stocks because you aren’t fucked on your dividends every year

Pfizer another dividend stock im looking to add to retirement account and worth a look. 5.7% plus at decade lows

Yeah an RRSP if a fine place since its a retirement trust essentially and our tax treaty specifies that for retirement trusts there's no withholding tax on US investments, TFSA not so much if you have US based investments that pay distributions you lose the withholding tax reducing your returns.
