It has some qualities. It's not a complete flop.
+ 1) It does not suffer from the shaky camera syndrome. Which to me is already a 30% improvement towards a 100% movie. There is a little bit of it, but not enough to kill the movie.
+ 2) The emphasis on "syndronomous" characters appeal to me, which is a trait from the game Jagged Alliance 2, where some time during the beginning stages you get to hire mercenaries from a semi-professional website that hires out characters of this nature.... that has quite low all-round stats, but have their areas of expertises which they really excel on. And that the player can exploit if they employ their leadership well.
+ 3) Quinn's son, Rory, is a multy syndrome child and is the most intelligent one in the movie. And to this extent, they play the movie very well. The way he is mailed the predator's mask and figures out how it works is a great angle.
Minus points:
- 1) The biggest point is; Even though the main person, Quentin (Quinn) is an expert sniper military person, we wanted the movie to be a jungle scene movie like the first one. They mixed it up a bit, and that is natural.. but they didn't pull it off nearly to a tee.
- 2) Again, i really like the emphasis on syndronomous military characters, but in this movie, they give them, pardon the expression, but dumb-ass traits, and make them behave like stupid morons. And to me, it's like, yes, some people may act like that, but not all people with syndromes act like that. They can -still- learn to suppress and work with their "ticks". They didn't have to take it to the point of harassing a woman to that extent.
- 3) The Predator, is really tough, but to me, it's like ...... you have the predator in the first, second and third movies. Nearly invincible. This time, you have a predator that -proportionally- evolutionizes when it is attacked. It brings down a regular predator and rips it's spine out within 15 seconds. And it is defeated through human strategy. I don't hold with that. It should have taken the whole military the las 30 minutes to bring it down. That would have been the best ending to the movie.
But ..... it's not a complete flop. The lack of shaky camera makes it that much better to me. I'll give it 6 out of 10. 60% out of 100%.
