and is there a trick to finding EP's? or no.

the only "trick" is that you can only find eps in unexplored squares.
If you have a partially completed catacomb where you need to keep walking on explored squares, you're going to find less than if you just restarted the map from fresh. Can do this by making and closing a group.
You could also use a map, add 25 to the level requirement to find out the maximum mob level of your map + any bonuses to that level on the map.

so if you're level 55, the minimum level map you can use is 30, if you use 56-60, then the minimum you'd want is lvl 35, if you are farming between lvl 61-65 then you'd need a lvl 40 or higher map.
The benefit of maps is that you wont find mobs whilst walking across explored squares. There is also a chest at the end which generally has a good amount of drops.

Due to a bug, if you fill the group then do the final square of the map, you will get more drops. Usually easiest to fill these on discord.
