I still need a good helmet but I'm really struggling to see what I'm still missing to reach even close his DPS and effective Hit pool.

Can you maybe help me see, what the main differences are?

your cluster jewel is not even remotely as good as his (if you don't know why then you have more money than brains)

his rings are qualitied yours are not

gloves

levels

shield

masteries

etc etc etc

without even looking at the jewel effects and skill tree - he has shit tons more cast speed than you alone.
