Lately I have been on a sparkling water binge, drinking 4-5 cans per day.

Many brands have only two ingredients these days: Carbonated water and natural flavors.

Internet research tells me it's just as healthy, if not healthier, then drinking water.

Do you believe it?

The term 'natural flavors'. What does that even mean? If it's a list of ingredients on the packaging, why isn't that item broken down into ingredients?

"According to the FDA, a natural flavoring is an essential oil or extract from a plant or animal source."

My go-to brand, Spindrift, claims real squeezed fruit juice. They are a bit pricier so I'll buy other brands when on sale that contain "natural flavors."

Natural mountain water straight from the source is the best.

Boil this water and mix with freshly cut untreated organic mint leaves, wait 10-15 minutes for it to infuse well then strain.

Ideally add nothing else, no sugar but possibly a teaspoon of honey, mix well, let cool and drink.

This drink is good for your health, to drink hot or cold, but ideally not iced or really hot.

You may want to conduct some research on 'essential oils' if you are concerned with health benefits.

carbonated (co2) water has benefits. natural flavor no.

"FDA hasn’t defined the term, companies can use [‘natural flavors’] to refer to pretty much anything derived from a plant or animal. And natural flavors can also include a variety of chemical additives, such as preservatives. The FDA doesn’t require companies to disclose what additional chemicals a particular item contains.”

Drink real water. It's cheaper and doesn't have weird stuff added.

Btw, I don't think carbonated makes it either better or worse. I think it's just gas.
