Just found this forum and would love to see everyone's aquariums. I'm in the process of setting up a 10 gal and a 55 gal looking for some aquascaping ideas.

I currently have a 90 gallon community discus tank. 5 Discus, 23 Neon Tetra, 6 Bronze Cory, 2 blue eyed lemon BN Pleco. Still wanting to add 2 German Blue Rams and possibly a dwarf gourami
This is first tank since I was a kid, feels good getting back in the hobby

What I have always wondered about aquariums is what people do with fish waste. They don't have a complete ecosystem in place that can properly recycle this stuff.

The Nitrogen cycle breaks down ammonia that is in waste to Nitrate which is way less toxic than ammonia. I do 50% water changes twice a week to keep nitrates low and use a gravel siphon to clear debris.

I see.

Sounds like a lot of work though, changing several gallons of water twice a week.

I really enjoy doing it! My tank is right nlin front of a window so easy to drain and add more back in.

Sure am with a spray bar attachment to lower the flow for my discus.

I was just thinking of making a post like this! I'll take some pictures later today and upload them after I clean the tanks a bit.

Research refugium and YouTube Father Fish. He'll teach you how to build a complete ecosystem so you can negate water changes almost permanently. (some situations apply)

I can teach you how to get rid of most of that work but you'd have to X the canister filter and it would require you to upgrade to a sump and use a hang on back overflow. I've already gone through all the trouble of learning all the systems so I can make it hella easy for you. It's a nightmare without a guide!!

(I have made a ton of mistakes so you won't have to!) :D

Edit: I might just post some videos to YouTube for y'all.

125G salt water FOWLR tank with 30 gallon sump

75 gallon fresh water bichir and chiclid tank with 10 gallon sump running an MBBR system

40 gallon breeder reef tank with 20 gallon sump (Triton26 v2 sump)

40 gallon all in one reef tank with my lovely snowflake eel

6 gallon long freshwater planted shrimp tank
(love this tank!! No water changes ever!! (maybe one ever six months if that)

500 gallon goldfish and loach pond with catfish too


I have a other tanks I need to set up that I haven't gotten around to yet. I'm still busy upgrading all these other tanks with modifications and stuff.
