Dont you remember when Durant joined the suns everyone and their mother was saying its an Easy Suns chip now
Literally no one expected Denver to win. Everyone thought the season was over just hand the trophy to the Suns. Thats how everyone acted.. Why?? Because Kevin Durant is going to their team, Kevin Durant will put them over the top, Kevin Durant is the last piece they need. They just need a wing shooter that can actually shoot and not CP3. Yep. With Durant on their team everyone called the season over
What actually happened though?
Durant failed miserably and the Suns failed miserably and were embarrassed by Denver.
And then everyone now acts like they didnt say Durant was going to bring a ring to the Suns
If you really want me to find old posts from jspers calling the season for the Suns because of Durant and old Brian Windhorst takes about how the Suns are now the favourites after getting Kevin Durant or Stephen a smith screaming about its guaranteed that Suns win with Durant etc etc etc I can do it but Im at work so it will take time
So if we are talking about Legacy, then Durants legacy is fucking shit. He has failed every team he has gone to and made them shit. Oklahoma, Nets, Now Suns. Obviously GSW doesnt count on the fact that they have the greatest POG of all time and were so good of a team even snake like Kevin durant couldnt ruin it with his constant fucking bitching and constant fucking nefarious bullshit and crying like a bitch and leaving the team after 2 years. Durants legacy is a steaming pile.
Bro you are on some delusional shit. That Nuggets/Suns series was a toss up at best, the Suns were what, -125 favorites or something? On Paper the Suns looked great but that's a team that was heavily shifted at the trade deadline while the Nuggets were a team with years of build up for their moment as soon as they were healthy. "Literally no one expected Denver to win" is some straight nonsense. Not sure who you talk sports with but anyone who watched basketball would not have written off that Nuggets team, easiest money I ever made with them coming out of the Western Conference. Now this season can be a different story, you give that Suns team an offseason and full regular season to mesh together and they're going to be a problem, but they had way more red flags going into that series than Denver who was coasting. I just googled the odds going into the series and it actually was Suns -125, so what the fuck are you talking about?
Right now Durant's legacy is a 2 time champion, one of the greatest scorers/players of all time, 2 time Finals MVP with one of the greatest teams this league has ever seen, hitting the dagger in back to back seasons from the same spot on the floor. The only reason he doesn't have a threepeat to his name is because he AND Klay Thompson got hurt. Cry about his jumping ship to the Warriors all you want, his talent is undeniable and he's proven he's an all time great. Meanwhile, Kawhi Leonard's last SIX seasons have involved a who know what the fuck happened season in San Antonio that decimated a contending team, an undeniably phenomenal finals runs that would have fallen short against a healthy KD, and then 4 consecutive massive disappointing seasons in LA, including a 3-1 choke job and 3 seasons of load management blended with season ending injuries, essentially wasting half a decade of championship contending teams with only 1 real season that has a massive asterisk next to it.
Not sure what reality you live in where Kawhi's legacy is in the same ballpark as KD's, but this is one of the most blind homer takes we've seen this offseason
