There is no "trading". You can Co-Op with up to 3 other players, but its a savestate for one player. You cannot use characters from single player games in your Co-Op games.
Still, Baldurs Gate 3 is the best game i've played in years. highly recommend this game :)

Thanks for the info man this is awesome. It’s a whole diff game too with table top style tuen based. I’m excited.

If you start a game I might be able to join and play as one of your chars some time. Wife and I are DND noobs and we started a coop together. So far it’s been fantastic and a gfg game.
