I'm interested. Got a source?

I don't particularly care for these kinds of papers due to the small sample sizes. However, I find the results compelling because there is the underlying concept of symbiosis that is observed everywhere in the natural world. After studying parasitology to a tiny degree, I'm convinced it is within their evolution to be able "control" our minds and bodies to some degree. A good example of this is a parasitoid wasp. While wasps and humans are quite different, the overlap is highly plausible.
So the hypothesis is nose hair trimming may not just be a consequence of annoyance or sexual selection. It could be the result of quasi mind control by a microscopic pathogen. After learning about this, I try pretty hard not to pick my nose etc.
