I don’t understand why people (excluding everyone in this thread thus far) are so dramatic in bullshit claims that d2/D2R is dead. The game is closing in on 2.5 decades of existing with a fan base. The day Diablo 2 dies is the the day we all die out.

With that said I’m enjoying d4 so far and I’m a 1.14 d2 purist (if you could call it that, since some favor other patched as “pure”) I can confidently tell you that I’ll return to d2 legacy and D2R some day. The game holds far too much nostalgia and good memories of simpler times. Why would any of us let that go forever?

im playing D4 and getting D2 urges
got to level 13 and it seems way too easy
so far no incentive to explore maps or read item details at all
every time you use a health globe (i mean "potion") two more drop lmao
the worst thing is i already knew i was paying full price for a dumb game but i did it anyway because its Diablo

It takes players away from d2

D2 and its open trading system will always get some people back i think. Personally i find no fun in playing easy singleplayer games like d3/d4 where you keep finding upgrades for your own gear every monster you pop :s
