I found her abandoned crossing a street in the middle of a hot summer day. I took her to a pet shop to identify her species, age, gender, and get proper care instructions for her.
Bought a habitat and boom. I have a pet that needs 0 attention aside from feeding and water cleaning, occasionally replacing her substrate and otherwise she wants nothing to do with me. Better than anything I could imagine since I’m rarely home.

She’s a western ornate box turtle. She burrows (non aquatic).
She eats monkey chow and salad with the occasional strawberry.

I like turtles.

Looks like a snapping turtle to me.

Biggest difference is Snapping turtles are aquatic this is definitely a terrestrial turtle.

They also can’t fully recess into their shells, but box turtles do.

IMO throw it a mushroom and picture of Super Mario. See if it commits suicide. If not, then name it and alert it to its excellence.
