Just a couple of quick comments:

1. When dueling, if both players die, the player that died first, loses the round. its not a draw.
2. I am quite relaxed with the completion of duels in the first week, but I expect everyone to have completed at least 10 duels by Sunday 11th june, and 20 duels by Sunday 18th june and all duels by sunday 28th June.
3. As with all tournaments I expect a number of players to drop out, and I note that several players (myself included) have joined with more then one character. On this basis the final score of players in the group stage will be determined by their best X duels (say there are 50 characters, we will take your best 30 results or something like that).
4. There are hard and soft rules. using a token to avail of an upgrade or some such is allowed, using a token to fundamentally change your skills is not. Using a token based on your match up is a hard rule. Players that do this will have their character disqualified.
5. Breaking the 5 minute time limit once in a match is an auto warn. Breaking the 5 minute time limit twice in a match is an Auto 0-5 loss. Duel faster. relating to same:

ESFB vs anything : ESFB is TKO'd after 5 minutes (because ESFB is fastest). If playing vs another teleporting character that is not engaging, and ever being chased, that player will be TKO'd

some more examples:

ESFB vs ESFB - the player north shooting or constantly fleeing is TKO'd.
Sorc vs Windy - Sorc TKO'd after 5
Windy vs Nec - Windy TKO'd after 5
Nec vs Assa - Assa TKO'd after 5
Assa vs Sorc - Sorc TKO'd after 5
Barb vs Sorc - Sorc TKO'd after 5
Nec vs Ama - Ama TKO'd after 5

I hope that makes sense.

Reminder we want a GM tournament, Reminder record video's where you can, the more exposure we have for MLD the better

Ty for hosting this
Best of luck everyone!

Reminder to all..... don't duel when drunk, you'll only regret it in the morning!

Should change this to a draw while it's not too late. This rule never made any sense, can't believe it's still around.

still around, I dont want protracted duels, ppl can do that at other dueling brackets and it is possible to suicide win rounds like this, which conforms to real life (dont ask for the example) :P
This rule has persisted in MLD for 15 years, I dont see the need to remove it. If your not familiar with something that does not mean that its wrong. If your dueling for 5 minutes there should be a result, not a null result.

Tbh it makes alot of sense and rewards offensive play.

Generally anything chasing an opponent will also get the first kill and deserve the win.

At hld this is different as every char teleports.

Here are a few examples......
You're a barb, you play perfectly and chase/predict a blizz sorcs gameplay. After 4-5 min you kill the sorc with 100life to spare. You die to a cold facet xD
Edit: atm cold Facets are banned on mld blizz, but you get the idea.

A hammerdin plays super aggressive and places hammers around a trapper (perfectly). The hammerdin has taken alot of dmg whilst engaging. He kills the trapper first and survives with 50 life.... or does he? Boom a last ditch lightning sentry kills him on route to town :wallbash:
