I am an ES Nova Sorc and I am making a Merc, with Prayer, his armor. Which one is best in slot for this build and if you have reasoning, that is a plus?

insight and cure one prayer merc are to for ES. that mean you have no life steal to this point and thus should go for coh

Your an infinity wielding nova sorc, your killing everything in seconds. Merc is only there to provide auras. Life leech, cbf, cb, damage not needed. Only need to keep him alive for auras, I recommend eth g angel. Only burst damage he should be subjected too is boss elemental attacks. Triple dip prayer does a good job keeping him topped off even if he gets hit you won't even notice no ll.

But if you have to choose between the two, coh. The damage difference isn't that big since dtd doesn't show up on char sheet all bosses classified as demons.
