Hi,

Currently i have the following build:

CPU: i9 10900k
MOBO: ROG STRIX Z590-F GAMING WIFI
GPU: TUF-RTX3080-10G-GAMING
AIO: Corsair iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX
PSU: NZXT C850 850W 80 Plus Gold Modular
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black DDR4 3600MHz PC4-28800 32GB 2x16GB CL18
Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 500D RGB
Monitor1: LG 27GL850-B 27" Nano IPS QuadHD 144Hz G-Sync
Monitor2: Random 1080p 24"

Was thinking in upgrading the following components:

CPU: i9 13900k
MOBO: ASUS PRIME Z790-A WIFI
AIO: Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX XT
RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 5600MHz 32GB 2x16GB CL36

Some questions regarding the upgrade:

Is it going to be worth? currently my gaming rig performs fine but i'm seeing that the CPU is having a hard time in CPU intensive games such a World Of Warcraft (I game in 1440p NOT planning on going to 4k in the near future)
Should i wait for intel 14th gen (I have read it's scheduled for 2024)?
Due to the change of Socket do i need to change anything more?
During BF i'm planning on buying a RTX 4070 TI. Is this build going to be compatible?
Is is worth going to 64GB RAM?

Thanks

You say that the 10900K is struggling in some CPU intensive games such as WOW (which came out in 2004).

I would think there is likely something else going on with your PC. People have been playing that game for many years before the 10900K was even made. I personally would hang onto the 10900k for another 2-3 generations.

Should i wait for intel 14th gen (I have read it's scheduled for 2024)? - 14th or 15th gen, no need to build an entirely new computer right now.

Due to the change of Socket do i need to change anything more? - You would need almost an entirely new PC. The ram has changed to DDR5 so you would need a DDR5 kit, new motherboard and processor. Only things that would carry over are storage, power supply, and gpu.

During BF i'm planning on buying a RTX 4070 TI. Is this build going to be compatible? It would be, but also would be compatible with your current build. The 3080 is still very strong I would recommend skipping the overpriced 4000 series and waiting for 5000.

Is is worth going to 64GB RAM? for gaming? no. Most games don't even need 32GB of ram. If your doing some crazy thing like multiboxing, running servers etc... then yes but just for gaming you wouldn't notice a difference.

TLDR: Skip on the upgrades. Save the money for further down the road.

10gb video memory in a open world online game is prolly your real issue.

The platform you have currently is more than powerful enough to run WoW. If your PC is struggling I'd suggest watching some youtube videos on how to de-bloat and optimize your settings. Chris Titus on youtube has some very awesome videos regarding such topic. Your current rig should last you many many more years if you are keeping it up to date, virus free and optimized settings. Might also be worth looking into things like XMP/OC genie on your motherboard. Simple "overclocks" and generally very user friendly.

hes asking questions
which are legit and you think its troll post

10900k to 13900k is like a 10% jump on 1440p average gaming, and like 50% on average from applications/multitasking

wow dragonflight benefits from single threaded which 13900k is like 50% better in single threaded

but if he is going to just play dragonflight he could look at other options with less cores but better single threaded

he doesnt need 64gb ram
4070ti will be compatible
if the goes new cpu he will definitely need mobo and ram

and should he wait for 14900k or whatever
well me personally i'd wait considering 13900k been out for awhile already
i have 10850k overclocked i'm considering changing myself but i play all types of games most are gpu bound and i play triple qhd in surround so new gpu benefit me more but also i know i'd get more from cpu intensive games like hogwarts so i might just upgrade both
