I question the decision makers as to which version of the Bible included miracles and included Enoch. These examples are why I questionChristians.

why would the Church add some random book that was never scripture to the bible? because you personally like it? what's the argument here

"they're different" is fine, "OT god was satan" is absurd. ^majorblood has been correct here entirely in his posts.

Vindictive, spiteful, cruel and requires blood sacrifices.
Who does that sound like to you?
Why would Jesus need to come and deliver us from that if the same?

Its not just some random book, obviously. Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and the Eritrean Orthodox Church do consider it scripture.

It was probably really annoying for early christians to cobble together scripture when they had contradictory passages in the most wild, vaguely pagan primitive stuff like the book of enoch.
The early writers basically just dropped it as canon because of how demented it was by comparison to the new testament. And the apostles didn't include Enoch as a prophet and the book would have supported such a claim

It makes sense from any look at what the early councils and apostles were dealing with, they didn't need to drag down the faith with a bunch of expanded lore concerning giants and angels and space demons or whatever else, cosmology had no bearing on christianity at that point.

this looks logical if you simply zero in on the pivot. if you zoom out and look at human history we were cave dwelling illiterate savages for hundreds of thousands of years. creatures so low in intellect and moral character they weren't even worthy of communing with god or his angels. as we developed god adjusted his treatment of us as a race, as any father does with his children. imagine explaining responsible finance to a toddler. god delivered us grace when we deserved it, he treated us as fallen when we were fallen.

ethiopian orthodox christains only make up like 2% of christains, they're not even the largest orthodox sect.

if 2% of people take something seriously, and 98% dont, people tend not to give it much credit.

do you find the 2% of scientists who dont think climate change is happening to be worth listening to?

Scientists use fossil skulls and archaeological records to prove modern human brains reached their current structure and capacity hundreds of thousands of years ago.
While human brains have slightly shrunk in the last 20,000 to 30,000 years to become more metabolically efficient, the core anatomy and mental hardware remain the same.

while there are different versions of the bible, all versions outside of Ethiopian orthodoxy that i'm aware of contain books that have no contradictions between them. Enoch directly contradicts other books of the bible, which is why Enoch and other books were not ever adapted into the bible. There is a long history of people suggesting that other works be entered into biblical cannon, but Enoch never passes the smell test. Both because of it's likely false origin story and its contradiction to the work of the disciples.

but your first sentence is incorrect, the bible as we know it was assembled in the late 4th century, not during Jesus time, if that's what you're implying.

Most of bible contradicts itself lmao. You don't get to leave anything out. Christians decided to add to the original jewish story by changing a new and different version of god. While muslims made their take. They left out certain books because it shows how the books are internally inconsistent and that would raise questions which the church was afraid of. Its an institution that has major self interest to convince people to believe them so that their donor numbers increase. A scam to sell people an imaginary cure from an imaginary disease.

My comment was satirical in nature. To highlight the fact that it was put together through a human filter not according to instructions from your god who you think is real.
