North Korean artillery is the reason North Korea exists. North Korean nuclear weapons are a joke by worldwide standards, its doubtful they could deliver one any further than Japan and even then it would likely be intercepted. But artillery isn't high tech, its super low tech. North Korea is a good ally to Russia for only 2 real reasons, sacrificial soldiers to fill gaps, and low cost low tech ammunition like bullets and artillery. It would likely cost Putin 2-3x the amount to produce that artillery in Russia, North Korean slave labor and high cost make it a much easier play. That's why we buy Iphones from china afterall.

I really don't see food shortages in a country as vast and as sparsely populated as Russia. And I would assume that Russia will eventually figure out a way to protect its refineries. There's only a limited number of them, they're static and super high value targets, like, come on, plastering all of them with abundant air defense can't be that hard. Which leaves Ukraine with only roads, bridges and other small-scale parts of the logistics network as their target - far less effective and lower value than direct hits on refineries.

I anticipate Ukraine to continue pestering Russian logistics and oil export capabilities, but these direct hits on refineries will eventually end.

Ukraine is losing everywhere on the ground. With their counterattacks they recapture some ground to lose it again to the Russians later. They haven't re-captured a single fortress city - those fortresses that Ukraine would never lose
