Just hit my second 99 on d2r and I thought the next challenge would be 99 on LOD.
I'm doing single player with plugy and I'm wondering which build would be the best/fastest option for 99.
Lightning sorc or hammerdin?
The plan is 98 in chaos, then 99 doing baals (if that's still the best strat).
I will have a sorc doing meph/lk runs to get what I need before creating the character I'm using, so assume I have mostly all the gear I could ask for.
Seems to me these are the pros/cons of each:
Lightning sorc:
Slightly faster lk runs to get infinity instead of enigma
Have to find a griffons (do I though if i'm only doing chaos?)
Static makes killing baal faster (i assume)
No difficulty with immunes
Hammerdin:
Enigma takes longer to get
None of the other gear is that difficult to find
Baal wave 2 is magic immune (should have enough to put 20 in holy bolt, is that enough?)
Much safer overall, although Chaos is pretty predictable and baal waves will be p1 (baal p3) so shouldn't be that dangerous regardless
Love to hear your thoughts if anyone has done this or has any insight.
