Argument from authority doesn't mean something is wrong, this is a fallacy fallacy. Citing the continuous, historical institution that actually compiled and codified a text to explain its parameters is basic historical methodology.
My argument is grounded in the consistent worldview of Eastern Orthodoxy. If you want to reject it and compare frameworks, let's see how your arbitrary, secular worldview accounts for the existence of transcendental categories, invariant laws of logic, the objective possibility of knowledge, human agency, or truth itself. Before you critique my authority, justify your own.
I am telling you the authority within the Christian worldview, granted by the Word, to safeguard the traditions of His Holy Bride.
It does when opposing views claim their authority just as valid. You claim eastern orthodoxy while someone else claims Catholicism, and the Protestants say theirs is the correct interpretation.
The argument folds on itself. Without proof we have no way to determine who is lying/incorrect. I am not assuming its a fallacy I am concluding its a fallacy based on the lack of proof.
Your god did a piss poor job of safeguarding his so called "word" when there are thousands of interpretations and sects among the believers. We have a long history of "fuckups" by the church from every denomination to say otherwise. You cannot call your worldview consistent because even within eastern orthodoxy you have divisions such as Ecumenical Patriarchate vs. Moscow Patriarchate.
Also I don't need to compare my personal framework to yours because even if my world view is wrong doesn't make yours true. This is an appeal to ignorance.
