with this ammy I hit 125fcr breakpoint, 1k mana and 4k life (full vit) after bo (6 cta), +3 teleport obsession, and it feels super comfy, never run out of mana unless im spamming blood boil on a fire immune herald pack. I also have a +60 mana bone break and some mana in the small charms. also just frw skillers and nat boots (the res is nice) to make prebuffing faster lol

Yeah exactly the kind of setup I'd say BiS, and extra frw is a neat extra innovation. I never felt like I needed more than 4k life either, most plain skillers. Technically caster boots could be worth it but nobody crafts them, and I happened to find 30 frw 10 fhr 37 fire 38 light 60 gf so I wasnt swapping those out ^^

I think its probably the best permutation. I mean if you just use the inventory slot from a tome of tp to use another skiller with sling ring, you're still at -1 boil overall vs the sojs fcr ammy shako setup.

One more optimization I made was for prebuffing. I have a +3 demon/40 str (fal'd) circlet as part of my prebuff swap. This allows me to wear wraithstep (163 str req) while still not investing any points in strength. This gives additional +1 demon skills for prebuffing. Between amulet/circlet/enigma/torch/anni you should be able to get enough str to wear wraithstep.

With +5 books for bind demon and summon tainted and battle command, I hit 56 summon tainted prebuff and 55 bind demon prebuff. With +6 books theoretical max prebuff is 57 summon tainted and 56 bind demon, but i dont know if those books exist.

Question about Hex:Siphon. it says
enemy damage -33%
Hex duration 6 seconds


so you cast H:S on yourself and then when you hit/damage an enemy - it applies that 6 sec debuff that reduces enemy damage by -33%
does this only happen from physical weapon attacks/ES, or all enemies hit by BB (or any other spell like Abyss) will also get -33% dmg for 6 seconds?

The -% damage debuff is only applied by weapon attacks / weapon skills. Its not applied by spells like blood boil or abyss. That debuff lasts 6 seconds and is refreshed if you hit the enemy again
The +life/mana after each kill is applied to all kills you make, regardless of skill. So it includes both weapon skills and spells like blood boil or abyss. But it won't apply to kills made by summons, like tainted, as those kills weren't made by you
Both effects are active for the duration of hex siphon, which can be up ~6 minutes

Well ancients don't have cursed or conviction. In normal PvM, anything that doesn't have amp damage is never going to kill you or your demon anyway, and the %dr on your demons can become very high or fully physical immune, but amp damage is glitched right now and gives -100% DR to enemies and summons that are immune and -200% dr if you have bone break vs immunes (including bound demon amp damage, hence prebuffing with bone break helps). But this also means even a 116% dr stone skin venom lord will have 16% dr after amp. If you're using an urdar from act 3, it has 55% base dr so 71% dr after engorge/blood oath, and immune to fire/cold/light. A lancer would have 49% dr and immune to fire/cold/light. Of course, all this begs the question of why you'd be doing uber ancients in the first place with a taintlock instead of a smiter or mirrored blades or whatever setup, because its pretty much one of the few niche things in the game where tainted aren't the best build.

Those megademons are only the ones in furnace/ubers, so its not a very 'free' way to do anything unfortunately :S you can get +4 all skills and holy fire / %dr from hephasto consuming too. But its quite impractical, all it lets you do is get the highest possible tainted damage prebuffing if you were on a 3x tainted build with no bound demon, but you need 20 points bind demon to get it. Then you could bind hephasto, get a skill shrine, and get up to level 63 tainted on a mang song setup. So unless you're being a sneaky bastard in a dueling game its not too useful, since nobody would put 20 bind demon and then not use a bound demon.

The wiki is still using 3.1 numbers afaik, its definitely +4 skills on hephasto now and +0 in 3.1 (since it was glitched not to work, but fixed and buffed in 3.2)


Well my understanding is that the colossal ancients' respective aura reduces enemy resist by 100%, so my demon's resists probably should have been pierced... but I didn't actually check either. Their hp didn't seem to budge, though. The pin head was an absolute tank. Also, that's too bad that megademon6 is from the furnace, but kind of cool.

I did uber ancients on him because I realized just how high damage the bind demon was striking for (easy to see with how quickly Baal dies), and because you can load into a game with max +skill gear and then swap to ANY gear/charms you want without a drop in the demons' damage. I got mirrored blades up to 5 hits with melee+sorb gear/charms on and it performed quite nicely with the attack speed boost from Purge + some leach. The tainted fireballs were a cherry on top.

It really suits long public tzone shard games to enter with the skill gear, you can easily just teleport through the game. Plus, you can choose to stash all your skill charms and run a game with nearly a full inventory's worth of space. Maybe this was already covered in 40+ pages of thread :D but the freedom is the main appeal beyond its performance IMO. IDK about the AI attack behaviors, but I wouldn't mind a definitive guide on how minions stack + how external factors change things like monster/demon AI(join order, etc). It's also interesting trying to balance the best cube buff for rapid-joining games like when hosting WSK tzone runs.

One thing I've noticed is that the floating chains animation on a bound demon "reset" when other players teleport near me. Pretty weird. So if I watch a duel in A1 while standing still in my stack, every time they teleport the chains flash :lol:

on fire-immune tier5 herald packs (especially ppl8) - has anyone tried just immediately summoning 2 Defilers over 2 Tainteds?
Wouldnt the shared damage from 2 defilers likely let your bound demon clear the mobs faster than the ~22% fire damage from Tainteds?

this is assuming your bind demon is 20 hard points (and 40+ lvl overall), so it deals a ton of damage with cursed (+spearwoman jab)
The idea being that boosting the demons output with defilers is better on fire-immunes than the Tainteds nerfed dmg

I would just skip heralds for now .

Having said that , if heralds were to drop more valuable items, I would depend on blood boil more

That was already discussed alot here there are some variants of the taintlock that have max bind demon and pure phy damage with bb

yes I know, I read this thread
you can/should use phys BB on fire-immunes

the question was different - when you get a fire-immune t5 herald pack - what will do more damage overall
- 2x Tainteds dealing their fire damage to ~78% fire-res mobs
- or 2 Defilers adding spread damage to your bound demons attacks (and to your BBs)
