Sup!

Not a building question but I got a laptop last summer with high end specs

Systemmodel: ROG Strix SCAR 18 G835LX_G835LX

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 9 275HX, 2700 MHz, 24 core(s), 24 logische(r) Prozessor(en)
RTX 5090

64gb RAM dual channel ofc

The issue is, I get performance drops (FPS) on Overwatch. When the laptop was new, it never happened. I had everything on MAX settings, 240 fps always. Even with D4 or D2R in the background running.

Now, I get a lot of performance drops to 200 fps, which sounds like nothing but it is highly noticeable and fking annoying. Also, I paid like 5k for this shit. I expect it to run longer than half a year.

I cleaned everything. The case can be opened easily without even screwing and I airblew it all through. It's pretty clean. It helped a little (?).

I think there was one Nvidia update in the past like half a year ago, it felt like it started after that.

Anyone who can help me and fix the issue will get 10 dollar paypal reward.

You already identified the problem.
Try rolling your Nvidia driver back to the previous version you had before the problems started.

Nvidia has been having driver problems lately anyways.
They stopped giving a fart about the consumer segment when their AI portfolio took off.

I ll try but my CPU jumps to 96+ degree at times for a fraction of a second, couldnt it also be throttling?

Probably not.
Intel and AMD are pushing over 100C max temp for their cpus now.
Intel is specced to boost until you hit 99C.

I don't like that they are asking people to let their hardware go over 90C though.
