When you go in for reductionist debates like trying to put an exact year on it, its pretty easy to come up with counterexamples.
The black vote went overwhelmingly to the republican party from the 15th amendment in 1870 up FDR in 1936 at which point they swapped to the democrat party, because FDR was the first president to actually actively court their vote with his black cabinet and eleanor's outreach and they were put on stage at his convention. Democrats locked up the black vote some 20-30 years prior to the civil rights movement and kept it the whole past 90 years.

The parties didn't switch, they evolved, and they did so over time and with many nuances and jolts along the way, and they're continuing to evolve right now. Which party is more aligned with religious fundamentalism and imposing religious values as law right now?
