With choking them, you also choke the globe, the poorest part the globe actually that can't afford gasoline prices. The current prices have been severely dampened by collective oil reserves in the US, Europe and across the globes that have been run down. Those are finite, and when exhausted, you don't get 20-30 cents increases per gallon but you get doubling of prices and many cases you get straight up shortages where price is no longer the constraint.

It's the ultimate act of selfishness to let people starve in Bangladesh, Indonesia or fill in the blank to simply try to weaken your enemy.

they've been under a blockade for almost 2 decades and when October 7th happened everyone's response to the coming destruction of gaza was "70%+ of Gazans support Hamas" and "Hamas is a martyr deathcult".

I dont even necessarily disagree that under extreme duress people may try and fight back, its just silly that they're a deathcult willing to be martyred when its convenient, and then they're a simple siege away from fighting an army with their bare hands and pitchforks to turn over the country to the west when its convenient.
