It was entertaining throughout most of the movie because I thought the dots would get connected...but then they didn't. Which made the movie feel very pointless/random.
I just watched it, was very enjoyable. I don't think the movie is intended to connect dots, but it does tie into the Kane Pixel YouTube content. Having watched the YouTube, still a lot not explicitly explained. Guess that's what drives the internet buzz. Like a viral advertisement but full length movie. Perhaps Kane is David Lynch JR spawn.
I assume there will be another movie now, especially with the success and the ending.
The lost mall stuff Kane did was better than Backrooms IMO. Unless it's part of the same canon. Hit the 90s errie nostalgia better.
