We live in a day and age where people celebrate the death of someone with a different opinion and that death was celebrated by people supporting the very things that lead towards this level of mental illness.
Charlie Kirk did no wrong by having genuine discussion with ideas and was a good man and on the other side of that evil celebration we have celebration in Heaven where Charlie is now.
This thread is simply going to include nothing but laughing emojis and no real discussion from the left leaning individuals in this section. They will continue remaining part of the problem. The moment you feel it is okay to murder just because you speak freely with people who freely choose to pick up a microphone to have open discussion is an extreme level of evil. It's those actions that continue to show how important Jesus is.
Free speech protects the right to speak. It doesn't require people to agree; but celebrating someone's death is a different issue entirely.
Free speech includes people’s right to disdain your terrible ideas
Agreed. The question is whether we're discussing ideas or just dismissing people.
No one was worried about his ideas, we don't care that he died over them because he said he was cool with other people dying and also because he was super obnoxious.
It's like watching a school bully get popped, no one was scared of his intellect, he was just annoying and pathetic.
So your issue wasn't his ideas being dangerous; it was that you disliked him personally. That's a different argument entirely.
Ask yourself - did you come here to have a genuine conversation about demagoguism vs. freedom of speech?
Or did you come here to advocate for your personal opinion on the matter?
Both. I'm sharing my opinion and asking others to explain theirs. That's usually how discussion works.
