Minus ur defensive gear, I've been playing that exact build and its much more enjoyable then braindead tainted

glad is working for someone else!!

have you tried to add death sigil?? make the build way stronger for big pcks ( use death sigit then death mark poo everything die

i have a second coa with um um for ubers since the fire damage from bb does 0 shit on then xD

have you tried precast your bind? will get 55+ its ridiculos lol

im kind of lazy to do a post about this build, dont know if its worth or will just get some trolls lol

btw you can use demon limb for ubers as well or have a enchant sorc help with ar ( not needed already tested p3 without those buffs)

I dont prebuff, ( demon limb would be an exemption since I can cube it and its fast).

I have assembled my fully operational ladder taintlock now and this is what I'm talking about
I'm just holding down teleport until I hit a herald or immunes, and even with 2x soj I'd quickly run out of mana if not for the insight battle staff.

I think its pretty obvious what the ideal prebuff equipment is, +3 helm/ammy, sojs, enigma, magefist, mang song/measured wrath for easy, +6 dagger/tome for ideal but hard to obtain, plain skillers
We're still up in the air about what the best combination of MF/survivability would be for gear you wear at runtime. You could even swap out skillers for mf/life/resist grand charms. I don't even have a baalos or defender's fire yet, and I'm just using an um'd kiras and rising sun for resists/sorb. It could be a shako and maras and have higher BO.

But I think better than any other video I posted, this represents what I'm talking about with the gameplay loop, give it a look

I feel that the flaws in relying on tainteds for your damage are really apparent here, in that it's monstrous single target damage, but the lack of a defiler/big splash damage is really noticeable because so many monsters are left surviving.

In this patch, with how heralds function, you'll miss a lot of heralds by missing so many mobs, and having to stay to clean up slows everything down. From watching that video, I feel just the straight blood boil I was running last season would clear that zone faster because every monster in the pack is getting clipped (either by the boil itself or by being linked with the defiler) and there's no reason to have to go back to clean up.

For example, that really low-hp pack at 1:02 required 6 telestomps to kill, and there were mobs left behind. I have to imagine that a 125 fcr obsession blood boil build would have had that done in fewer clicks and with faster teleports.

There's definitely no comparison when it comes to killing a boss/high life mob, but if you're spawning fewer of them because of the way the build works and having a playstyle that leaves a lot left behind, then I think the tradeoff isn't there.

Nice video, good info.

Personaly why and the way i play tainted is very lazy :) no prebuff 3 tainteds, fireball close to 100k and 75fcr with +5 plague, stomp targets to proc lr sometimes, probably not the best but hey melts most packs in p8 using teleport alone, if mobs have more hp throw in a few boils. 75fcr bp on lock feels way smoother than on a necro..

There's not much point to chasing down every non-unique mob and tainted are autokilling about 75-90% of them just by teleporting past them without even clicking on them
You reach an upper limit of clear speed where you need to slow down to actually see items drop and teleport back if you missed them. Any build that has to stop and cast spells, let alone aimed spells, can't approach that. We had blood boil being faster than ES in patch 3.1 because you had to actually click ES on mobs but blood boil was just teleport, cast a few times unaimed, pack dies, repeat. But taintlock is approaching something we haven't seen since the aurasorc / auradin stack glitch of patch 1.11. I am simply holding down my teleport button until I run into heralds or some big packs of fire immunes worth killing. I can clear a whole act in the time I see people dicking around in a single zone.

To give another example video, I just saved some footage from a pub run. If you click on any random timestamp, it shows what I mean about clearing at teleport speed rather than stopping and casting.

I have a 125 setup in stash, and I'm using a mang songs just to prebuff, I could have higher damage blood boil or higher FCR, but to what end. If I go any faster I can't even pick up items. Obsession is a QoL improvement over Mang Songs at the cost of DPS, but here I clearly don't need DPS at all and you can see how unplayable the mana situation would be if I wasn't regenerating nonstop, even 500 mana + meditation is coming close to draining my mana at points and the only spell I'm casting is teleport. I mean maybe there's some absurd setup where you run so many +skills you reduce the mana cost on teleport enough and stack mana regen for the rest, but insight does it on its own.

Something just occurred to me but needs testing

Supposedly, bone break is the exception to sunders where -% dr from amp/decrep is not reduced to 1/5 effect if bone break is equipped, against physical immunes. Which was put in as a way to buff bone break since its shit otherwise
which still isn't a reason to use it on tainted warlock, especially with flame rift being better for blood boil and necessary for being in your inventory when you summon tainted anyway
but
we should test if it would be worth having a bone break as you join the game, to buff your bound demon (could be cheapest LOD temu brand, not even latent/renewed)

Since the sunder effect is applied to minions when they are summoned, which is why you need flame rift and not ALL skillers when you summon tainted
presumably, the same should be true for bound demons, summoned as you join a game. So it would be worth swapping in a bone break, then swapping it out again with the prebuff gear
if that works, you'd lose the damage/hp of +1 bind demon/mastery/blood oath, but when your bound demon hits physical immune 100% dr monsters with amp damage it should set them to -5% DR instead of 80% DR, so 5x the dps
if anyone tests this lmk because it seems like an easy and cheap way to buff the bound demon with 1 extra click at start

Finally get the chance to play this build after I got most of the gears (some suboptimal temps such as hellwarden). Currently have a pitlord. Is spearwoman generally better?

How much prebuffing do you need for your build to be viable. At some point, people just wanna join games and farm right away. Dont mistake me, your points are all good, but not every1 wanna carry a stash full of prebuff stuff

I have a bone break so will test this next game

don't think I notice any difference, but my tests could use a bit of work tbh. Maybe it needs to be equipped at the time of binding?
