Atheism is just not being convinced a god exists. That's it. I'm an atheist because I don't believe any religion has met their burden of proof to show their god exists.

it has everything to do with 'atheism. they were counter explanations to special creation. maybe now that they have been exposed as fraud the new excuse is "Atheism is just not being convinced a god exists"

It has nothing to do with whether or not there is a god. It would be proof that there is intelligent life on other planets, but it wouldn't in any way be proof of a god or even point in the direction of a god.
