Hi all,

Currently playing a FoHdin on HCL (lvl 84), on a budget. My main goal is survivability, without sacrificing too much DPS (which I lack at p3 and further) which is why I'm reworking the support/aura side rather than my damage skills.

Current setup

Merc (Act 2):

Prayer (innate, lvl 18)
Insight (Meditation)
Cure (Cleansing)

Character:

Maxed: FoH, Holy Bolt, Holy Shield
Prayer as active aura (lvl 18 with +skills)

What I'm considering:

Swapping my merc's Insight for Reaper's Toll (for the Decrepify slow), and running Meditation as my own aura (to make up for the mana I'd lose from dropping Insight).

My Prayer (18) and the merc's Prayer (18) are the same level, so they stack either way — so the real trade I'm weighing is Reaper's (Decrepify + slow → more safety) vs Insight (mana + simplicity).

I could also go with Holy Freeze Merc and Maxed Prayer as active aura.

Since I'm on a budget, I can't afford to test both setups before committing, so I figured I'd ask the experienced players here first.

What would you run?

run redemption yourself and you can run whatever offensive merc you want

Lack of constistency against bosses ? Besides, Redemption only helps my Character and doesnt the party. I'm not a fan of the idea tbh. But interesting one! Thx !

Keep the merc as is. Run holy freeze and switch to redemption to refill.

You can also use 1 point in sanct as switch and 1 point salvation if you struggle with res.

Dont do reapers

bosses are super easy most of the time , esp if you are a pala , u can swap for smite (black rw) + fana aura when vs boss

if group play wise , i would say it depends on who your teamate are

conviction is always the best case if your team are casters ( fire/light ) , fana if they are melee ( barb / bowazon )

meditation is always available via merc in cheap , dont have to run it as pala yourself

Reapers have slow which feels like another layer of safety, but ok I get the point. I invested 10ish in Prayer tho. Hopefully, Fohdin doesn't have to respec every build change due to versality.



For friends, usually casters.

I'll have to find smit gear : I can do Black and clean an Akaran targe I got for pdiamonds for example.

yea , black + gore + some p-diamond shield is good enough , if u dont mind can even put on a g-face

boss melted almost instantly with a few smite + 1/2 cast from whatever spells your friends using

And on main : Max redemption u say. As I invested already : why not Cleansing with maxed Prayer in synergy (I would drop the cure on merc) ?

dont have to max redemption , just 1 base level will do

a cheap cure helm + prayer + insight will gives enough cleansing+regen , dont really need to run cleansing yourself , it doesnt make much difference

Ok. I'm gonna use my last respec to grab back those points I have put in prayer and try the redemption + smit on swap route. I was just feeling freezing/decrepifying everyone on the screen was the best survavibility route.
