ive heard that wasnt safe, thats why im curious of what ways are considered best

Prob safest way would be AH method, list a cheap item for high and tell the buyer to buy it. But you take a hit tho on AH fees

Haven't played in quite a while, but I would just use 3-6+ month old throwaway guilds, created on my alts. Then the gold seller gets invited to my guild and has permission to deposit gold, but not permissions to withdraw.
That, combined with not buying gold when I needed it, but instead buying gold proactively, so that the gold could "cool off" in the guild bank for weeks (usually months), before I withdrew it.
I'd also personally avoid gold flippers, or sellers moving large amounts frequently.

Most people buy gold when they need it, and I'd imagine this is what's primarily scanned for. E.g. player gets large amount of gold -> player spends said gold shortly after receiving it.

I never caught a ban for trading gold, but I did catch one for referring to another player as a "lunchbox"..

if you care for your main acc, do not do it.
theres no "sell/buy safe" thing anymore.
selling too much in one go gets you banned.

gold banks like said are on the safer side. but since classic HC they are watching everything. mailboxes, p2p, AH, guild logs.
Throwaway accounts are now 1 month restricted from selling and chatting. i think warden got some kind of AI enhance too

They've got bots now detecting certain keyword phrases now too

I think somebody in the past mentioned jsp in game and 15 min after got a 2 week ban for gold swapping
