After putting 20 points into nova, do I go for static field or lightning mastery next and do I max that skill or do I alternate with static and mastery (ie. alternating 1 point in each at a time)

Do blizz for leveling, then at high level change to nova

At the start of the season , go full blizz if you don't mind skipping cold immune areas or hydra orb if you want to clear all. ( Telekinesis+ Merc handles double immunity)

Once you have good enough gear , swap .

I think infinity is a good turning point.

Crescent moon / sunder are good turning points too

You can also go enchant /orb at start season use a throwing knife, passion RW, or a demon machine/any bow or xbow with exploding arrows and dual spirit on switch to precast/use orb
