I was looking into going lightning and ultimately decided to stay blizzard for this ladder and try light next, but I noticed in a lot of old discussions that whenever lightning vs Nova comes up, nobody really mentions chain lightning.

Why not? You have to max it out for synergies anyway, and its the better option for scattered mobs. There something I'm missing?

It's still really good I think people just don't enjoy the play style as much

because its .001 seconds slower than some other skill

Which could be the difference of 1 fg of items per week
a fg addicted jsp’er would never give up 1fg even if they’re miserable playing, so they never recommend it

Yeah but you can just use lightning normally and CL as needed, no?

tbf nova is way faster than chain lightning and is widely considered to be S tier for pvm

CL is still viable ofc with decent gear, just slower

i use it and like it a lot, ill use regular lightning if something is a tougher enemy that needs focus fired. such as a sundered lightning immune etc

everyone and their mom is playing nova these days

Ye, its just i played nova already and want some variety. Blizzard ball has been really fun this season. Its just weird to me considering how you could use use both spells as neccesary.

Like you still max out cl as lightning for synergies, don't you? Can just use both.

ye just a classical lightning build
as it was said, CL for packs and lightning for tougher stuff

Anytime anyone says “lightning sorc” they are talking about a sorc that uses chain lightning for mobbing

Thats what I thought too, but so many people seem adamant about never pressing it for some weird reason lol
