heralds are still tough for standard nova builds, since they tank a lot and drain your mana very quickly, especially if they are conc aura and/or ranged packs. warlock is very good for heralds since he can basically half their attack speed with lethargy (one point is enough) and then decimate the pack rather quickly. mosaic (nl) and amazon are best for heralds on par with that imo. i also play a fire sorc which due to sunder -res gear, static and strong hydras can very quickly kill heralds from a save distance

Yeah that was the problem earlier aswell, you just get clapped against herald packs specially in P8

sunders can drop from any mob in a tz area?

Yes, sunders can drop anywhere now but heralds have an increased chance to do so. Else they only drop crap. Seeing that if you have a sunder and their prices are falling quickly (lot more finds) it's very valid to just skip heralds all together. I personally like the challenge and a good sunder roll is still worth quite a bit. But there is a point to saying it's not worth the hassle, especially with builds that are more trash-mob oriented such as nova. In the patch notes it says that herald chance to drop uniques etc. has been decreased. Why? Only blizzards janitor knows
