He made all of those people in his image, and he had a premade get out of burning in hell card he was sitting on and he still chose genocide.
God didn't choose genocide. The people chose to bring harm to God's people. A people whose record keeping would bring about the spreading of His word.
If someone is trying to murder you and you kill them is it not self defense? That's a very basic understanding of a just killing. Now imagine being the omniscient God who knows what everyone will do, could do, or has done. Now imagine those people as disgusting, hate filled, child sacrificing barbarians who threaten the people you chose to protect.
These people had the excuse of ignorance at that time. Now people have at least heard the Good News. Now there is no excuse.
Then you might aay "why make those people in the first place knowing they would choose evil?" The true answer is we don't know. But I have thought about this extensively. God's ultimate goal is for us to be with Him. Being the all knowing God, He knows what would happen in any scenario He could make. Ours just happens to be the scenario in which the most souls would be saved while maintaining actual free will.
