When someone does melee damage to you, you return the percentage listed on the aura back to them.

If you watched my Knight Versus Satan video, you'll see that thorns is very good for knights versus Satan.

The damage you take has 2 components:
- reflect damage (percentage of damage dealt) -> Only affects melee attacks that deal physical damage.
- flat damage (fixed value) -> Only affects melee attacks no matter the damage type, occurs on each hit attempt (not on each successful hit).

EDIT: That's for the herald aura, the flat damage probably doesn't apply to the paladin aura.

Can the reflected damage be blocked or mitigated in any way?

Does dr% help against thorns?

DR%, pdr, mdr overflow, other forms of dmg reductions such as ES, bone armor, pvp penalty all reduce the dmg taken by your enemy, thus reducing the returned dmg you take. The % returned dmg is based on the final dmg taken.

Then the returned dmg is also reduced by the same things listed above that YOU have.

So for example, in pvp, the returned dmg is modified twice by the 0.17 factor

Mitgated yes as pointed out, no idea if blocking helps or not though.
Would be worth testing, considering herald thorns works differently than regular thorns.
