Yeah you might need to reset your cmos and bios to default since you moved your ram. Running it at a1b1 hopefully won’t cause issues after that…

ok idk how to reset cmos and bios, but i will look it up and keep you posted!

Resetting your bios is just setting to default really. Your cmos is just finding the battery on your motherboard and taking it out for like 20 seconds and putting it back in

Haven't replied for a while. Any update on your situation ?
Also, if you go for reset of cmos/bios, you're looking for a "battery" the size and the look of a coin, i'd say 50c/2€, but I'm pretty sure you're not european. A bit less of an inch in diameter maybe ?
Remove it for a couple of minutes to be sure.

If swapping of RAM and reset of bios isn't working, plz come back to us :)

So far the ran swap seems to be doing the trick! I am thinking user_selected gets the 1k because he had me do that. I am just waiting a couple days to make sure the problem is gone as sometimes I would naturally just not get a reset for a couple days. But so far it does look to be good!

hey boys just concluding this thread.

I believe the ram sticks swaping from a2b2 to a1b1 has solved my restarting issue as I have not had a restart since the date of the swap~10 days ago. Hopefully no restarts to come.

thanks again user_selected for the help, 1k sent!

thanks glad i can help

here is the msi motherboard drivers page. https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/MEG-Z390-ACE/support

if you do not have the latest bios version i would recommend updating to the latest as it could very well fix your ram slot power issue and you can go back to a2 b2 and everything work as it should.

you can check your bios version doing the following:

Press the Windows key on your keyboard.

Type msinfo32 in the search bar and press Enter.

In the System Information window, locate the entry labeled BIOS Version/Date. The version and release date will be displayed here.

now if you already have the latest version then i would recommend replacing that motherboard as it appears to be defective.

your gpu looks like its running hotter than normal and it could be because the same power rail issue.

no, at least not that I know of, I havent opened it that I can recall but i searched and it does come up as a program on my computer. Should I do something to turn it off?

Also I paid out the 1k and the issue was fixed for like 3 weeks when i swapped the ram from a2b2 to a1b1 but then the issue came back lol
