Was creating a new mace for my alt barbarian, got the weapon damage, crit damage, strength and resource.
Transfigured it, got gem strength. You would say yay, great! But the transfiguration actually REMOVED the resource stat. Like seriously, WTF Blizzard?

Yea this happened to me as well on an armor item. I think it removed all res, so it essentially bricked it and I had to downgrade back to my other armor

It's really low chance to brick the item though, probably like 5%. In poe where the concept was invented it's like 25%

Yep. Bricking is a lot more common in poe with vaal orb.

Happened twice today, transfigure removing an existing affix. Is this a bug or part of transfigure?

This is still a major upgrade, you should have plenty of resource elsewhere and even if you need to sacrifice a little damage on another piece it's still totally worth it

I actually hit the transfig gem strength while item still modifiable lottery earlier, but gem strength replaced one of the mods. I was still able to add an affix again with the cube, so this isn't a big deal for temp items like this one (assuming you can't transfig again) or your endgame weapons

Got rid of the worst affix on your weapon for the best possible cube roll.. Use that weapon lol

should be higher chance to brick item, where's the risk. also remove these fucking op transfigurations

edit: nvm i guess it has high risk because if u miss gem strenght its a salvage item
