In his video, he explains that some people are getting like three transfigurations--especially the one where you get gem strength.

When you transfigure an item (after you masterwork it), it will say either "unmodifiable" or not. If it doesn't say "unmodifiable,' then you can transfigure AGAIN.

He explains that there is a 1/20 chance that you will be able to modify it again AFTER a transfiguration.

After you transfigure that, there is another chance you can get ANOTHER transfiguration if it didn't say "unmodifiable."

During these transfigurations, there is a small chance that the transfiguration will be gem strength. That is what most people want, but that is the part where it's purely RNG--we can't control whether you get this stat as a transfiguration.

Knowing my luck - if I ever roll a gem strength plus modifiable, my second transmog would end up replacing the gem strength with poison res

I don't think transfigs can replace other transfigs

They can replace affixes, but if it's still modifiable you can just add an affix again to bring you back up to four

What dont you understand exactly? You're probably just unlucky like most people. There's a small chance that transfiguring an item stays modable. There's and even smaller chance its still moddable after getting gem strength on your first roll. People with many gem strength affixes are basically doing what others are saying: find ancestral you want to gamble, dont worry about stats just transfigure items until you get one that gives you gem strength or gem strength + modifiable. Obviously if you dont get gem strength but still modifiable you can roll again in hope you get it this time or hope item stays modifiable. People are fixing stats after they get the two godly affixes instead of wasting souls etc.. making perfect gear before attempting the gamble. I've personally been wasting 1000s of souls making gear good before I transfigure now I'm regretting it lol.

I went through 1000 single GA 2h weapons, not a single one gave gem strength and was still able to be MOD. I gave up this season on trying for it anymore.
Any time I get Item quality and still able to be MOD I fully upgrade/gem/enchant it just incase i get gem strength.

I did have a weapon allow me to transfigure it 4 times. I got Crit Strike, Item Quality, and GA twice.
