I know my friend karleens dog at 7 pounds of chocolate and was fine

The molecule in question is theobromine which in chocolate are technically the toxic molecule in question.
dogs metabolize it slower than humans, so effects last longer and can increase risk.

Vomiting, tremors, seizures, heart arrhythmias, and can be fatal at high doses. (for dogs)

ps. caffeine is bad for dogs too, again due to the slower metabolization of the molecule.
