The Celtics system is flawless for winning regular season games, almost nobody except Boston homers had them in the top 4 for a reason and that’s a lack of depth. You can get away with Sam Hauser and Neemias Queta playing big minutes in the regular season. Winning a bunch of regular season games doesn’t make any of these bench players worth a damn on any other team in the league. Vuc was so bad defensively he was unplayable in the playoffs

Celtics had the 2nd best offensive rating and 4th best defensive rating in the NBA this season. They were strong favorites to win the East entering the playoffs.

They were MASSIVE favorites to win the series. Especially with the Embid surgery and missing time.

I think most people understood if PG and Embiid were healthy they’d have a talent edge, which was an uncertainty going into the series. The Celtics biggest flaw is their bigs, since Embiid was able to go the 76ers were able to exploit that flaw. Embiid has mobility issues but those are hidden if the opposing team doesn’t have good bigs to challenge him. PGs 20+ game suspension ended up being a gift from Silver, him being fresh at the perfect time really helped anchor the wing defense needed against the Celtics. As much as you clown Tatum, his minutes are obviously a huge upgrade over Scheierman, Walsh, Harper, or Gonzalez. The Celtics also didn’t do much to put Embiid into the PnR, but that’s a nitpick because I doubt there is anyone who could get more out of the Celtics than Mazulla

I thought that too until they hired Jenkins, I doubt they hired him for a rebuild but we’ll see. Some teams might offer a crazy package after flaming out earlier than they expected
