Hey there trolls and trollettes, players and gamers.

I was wondering what would be best to use on a zerk (trav) barb.
As I understand it both dmg types of sunders and jewels work with bezerk.

But as I'm using grief I cannot socket my weapon with the new colossal jewel and would lose some added dmg due to the bug of the ed not being conveyed properly.
So that would favor the magic jewel.

Now for the sunder I'm leaning towards -%res magic (or +%dmg?) because the penalty is less impacting. No magic dmg in trav.

But wouldn't the up 100%ed be totally crazy working with grief?
Then that would be a crazy dmg boost if my presumptions are correct.

+% magic damage doesn't work with berserk
-% enemy magic resist does
protector's stone will add +10-30 base damage if socketed into a non-weapon slot. It won't add its own %ed, which does nothing in off-weapon slot. It won't remove any %ed already on that base item either, which still works. And the -% enemy physical resist will obviously do nothing with berserk.
-% enemy magic resist items will generally function as an overall additive % multiplier to berserk since most enemies will have 0% magic resist, including everything in trav
hence if you wear 2x slings, gheeds belt and hellwardens socketed with guardians light you can get as much as -35% enemy resist, meaning you'll deal 135% overall damage
but this is obviously impractical if your intent is to mf/gf, and there are probably other damage multipliers that you could wear that get higher per item, like arreats or gillhat vs hellwardens, which more depends on your %fcr needs

I'm a fan of ik helmet socketed with cham and lem - now that will be cham and colossal magic jewel +5/-10
and either -magic res sunder or +ed bone break.

I've already swapped out the goldwrap for gheeds wager but I'll stick to dual dwarf for the eg.

I thought magic rez on monsters doesn't go below 0. Any source that it does?

irrelevant here.
Monster magic res are (as stated) usually 0.
There's still plenty of room until you get them to -100

Why irrelevant.
Monster with 0 magic rez and you have sling still has 0 magic rez so no added damage
