Iirc, gas prices spiked particularly highly across the midwest because two major regional refineries are currently offline due to technical issues. So it's not just the impact of the war and might not end up as drastic in other parts of the country.

But yes, gas prices will surge everywhere and that spells the end for any GOP hopes of avoiding a wave election in the midterms. At this point, Democrats should even be somewhat favored to take the Senate, while the House is long gone.

Mainstream platforms? not even close to a good one that is unbiased. not even within a country mile of unbiased. all total and 100% slop rag bullshit top to bottom. if they release any good journalism its on accident.

Majority of what's covered today in the MSM is full of spin, framing or simply non-news disguised as news. It's really bad. I think i get most of my news from Twitter nowadays but even there if you lean even an iota one way the algorithm will curate content for you.

Paradoxical really, firehose of information but i think vast majority of people are painfully misinformed and/or ignorant of what's important news both in the US/globally. Maybe i was ignorant of it as a kid, probably was but i don't recall it being this bad. Like literally everything today is partisan and trying to get you to think a certain way. It feels like a buffet, catering and aimed at driving consumption vs simple reporting.

i think it was this bad when we were kids, but we didnt have the internet to find out what they refused to cover. there could be an armed uprising somewhere and you'd have zero ability to find out unless CBS ran a story on it. now we see HUGE events happen thanks to twitter, redit, etc. and no mainstream network will cover it. its insane to see them ignore reality and expect us not to notice.
