due to the way damage calculates in diablo 2

example

i am fighting a monster with 50% lightning resists

i do 100 lightning damage with +50% lightning damage

100 x 1.5 = 150 damage reduced by enemy lightning resist of 50%, 150/2 (-50%), i now deal 75 damage

same case with -50% lightning resist

i do 100 lightning damage, enemies lightning resist is -50% (now 0%), damage reduced by 0%.. i deal 100 damage.

resist is calculated last.

max ias bp or nothing imo

edit well with high fcr if you can 1 shot screen either way then wtv but im ocd bout bps lol

yea until the enemy is below 0 which with -res and conviction they almost all will be then % dmg passes it outright anytime its under 0

Yeah I forgot what dmg I had but you can see my P8 chaos video. That was my final set up. had facet jmod and facet+ias maek jmos on me to test out many many times too haha

Killed P8 herald of terror without infinity merc, so it definitely had enough dmg.

ias bp not really important for pvm.

You can always put on highlord if you want to go 50ias. I kept fcr amulet always though. ias bp is overrated for PvM. it's very critical for PvP.

yes once you get them below 0 is what I am saying. -res will do better then % damage up until the enemy hits 0 or below.

I disagree with ias part. Ias is the most needed BP on any zon of any kind imho. Especially if you get decrepd or cursed which is constant in chaos.

That's why Cure is a must for chaos. I just leave cure on merc always for any runs.

it can and will go past 0, up to -100%

if you use a sunder, which takes an enemies resist down to 95% (if they are immune) the maximum amount of -res you need is 195% this also applies to cold sorc and anything else.

also if you did not know : when breaking an immunity, this aura will only function at 1/5 effectiveness (-17%)
