I had somebody respond to my ISO post on path of exile, they said they will be on in 20 minutes, I sent them 5.7k forum gold and the trade link thinking they will be back online like within 20mins to a couple hours maybe. Now it has been 26 hours and they have not gotten back on d2jsp and I have not received the trade. how long is long enough to wait before like disputing the forum gold transfer or what is there that I can do about this? I can wait another like 14 hours or so for delivery but after that what are my options and what should I do if they are not back online and have not delivered?

okay thank you, i am going to wait another day or so and just hope they log in and get back to me. I know how things can come up etc and I messaged them and let them know that in another PM. Just wanted to get the info on what to do if something does go wrong though, appreciate your help.

It sounds like you trusted this person enough to send that much gold so I'd put my money on an easy resolution for this. Don't panic. Always use a mediator for big purchases.

yeah i just had good experiences with always getting trades fast on that game and people would send to me first or I would send to them first and trades are done so fast so I guess I got complacent, I have no idea who this person is but they have an older account and a lot of posts and a good amount of forumgold so I trusted their word when they said they will be online in 20 minutes, still no resolution now and it has been 38 hours so IDK ill wait another 24 hours from now hopefully this guy just logs in or remembers that he wanted to make that trade I guess. Will for sure use a mediator in the future for anything above like 1-2k, just frustrating I couldnt get the items I needed now for multiple days since I could have traded with somebody else

I would recommend not deleting any PMs or the trade link etc sent to the user. Keep track of their last login and forum gold balance and give them the ability to see any PMs you’ve sent and respond.

In the future I recommend not sending forum gold before meeting in game, or simply use a mediator.

yeah i need to also select to save the PM's that I send because I did not save any of the PM's as well, I do have the trade link but just hoping they come online in the next couple of days, a lot of lessons learned for sure but fingers crossed they just come back online so they can finish the trade
