It is very sad. Happens when you get older. Duriel has only ever said the lines "Looking for Baal?" (Not YOU ARE looking for Baal, like OP is trying to imply and is misremembering) And "I am your doom."

He only has 5 sound files in total actually and 3 of them are just crunching noises and shuffling sounds. It's the same thing as berenstein vs berenstain bears, Mandela dying in prison in the 90s, Shazam being genie movie in the 90s, Chick-fil-A being spelled "chik-fil-a", fruit-of-the-loom having a cornucopia in the logo and a million others. Just bad human memory; that's really all it is, but some people are so stubborn they will say "no I KNOW what I heard!!", even though human memory is terrible and easily changed.

You're minimizing, generalizing, and rationalizing everything. I invite you to rewatch the video of the blonde interviewing the baseball player, who we all remember as blonde, but... look at that, now she's African

Conflation; human memory is awful. That's why witness testimonies aren't infallible... And besides, I know exactly what you're talking about and back then there were tons of blonde interviewers. It's so easy to mix up two memories or even create fake memories, especially stuff that's happened a long time ago.. hell, even stuff that's happened recently.

You're just wrong. The audio file you described does not exist and never existed. I know it's a lot easier to just say I'm wrong than to admit your memory is wrong, but that's just the truth. I even checked the audio files from a 1.00 game ISO and the line you're describing is not said by duriel.

Is "I am your doom" a scrapped line or something? I don't remember hearing that one at all.

I believe it is unused, yeah–but it is present in the files. Duriel's voice lines are just the typical "Looking for Baal?" and the various noises he makes.
