It's always hard to assess how many Indians are citizens vs. PRs vs. TFWs. I know that a great deal of them at least around where I am are TFWs, which the government has cut back on recently. The thing about Indians is that they abuse their own people - Indian employers specifically being over Indians TFWs who they then withhold wages, abuse, break the law in their treatment of them because if they don't take it they threaten to send them back.

How my government glaze both Britain and USA is somewhat legendary. But that was when the United States actually have some decent politicians and strategist to know what are the limitations and how to conduct foreign policy.

I only believe what my mates in Korea tell me first hand. But to be fair, there are those that really like the states and those that despise you like the Japanese.

I agree with you that most Americans do not know very much about the rest of the world. This applies to people from literally every single other country too though, including your country and maybe to an even greater extent because China has some pretty powerful censorship laws.
