I'm gonna elaborate on some of this because I'm passionate about these causes and understanding sociology. Sorry if it's a lot of text, but I'm going to discuss this slowly, carefully, and autistically as is my custom.
In 2024, under Biden, there was a bipartisan border bill making its way through Congress. Biden strongly supported it, calling it the "toughest and fairest" set of reforms in decades. Most Republicans in the House and Senate, including immigration hawks, supported it. But Trump urged Senate Repubs to kill the bill so it could be an election issue. Your tough-on-immigration guy chose political expediency over being tough on immigration.
Biden was probably tougher on immigration than Bush Sr, he just didn't employ the same racist language as Trump (shithole African countries, Haitians eating your cats and dogs in Minnesota, sending rapists and gang members over from Mexico, birtherism, the list goes on). Kamala would've been Biden 2.0. So far, Trump has been deporting unlawful immigrants at a slower rate than Biden did. There is not a single Democrat in the US calling for open borders, this was a rightwing lie perpetrated by your favorite youtubers.
You could make the case that now due to ICE, general antipathy towards immigrants, and declining quality of life for Americans that we have net negative migration for the first time in decades since people just don't want to come over. You might see that as a good thing. I do not. The strive towards racial homogeneity that so many in the MAGA movement aspire to will only lead us down the road of Japan, now experiencing population collapse because there are too many old people for the younger generation to support.
It is a law of nature that native net birth rates in affluent countries are lower than replacement rates. You can try to fix that by forcing American women to be barefoot and pregnant as outlined in Project 2025, but taking people's freedom away in the land of the free won't keep you in power for long. So immigration is needed to sustain population levels. The same vilification that Mexicans are getting now, the Irish and Italian got before them. There's cultural friction for sure; assimilation takes time. But we benefit from immigration, even if that means you hear more Spanish outside and see more taco trucks around. Immigration isn't about being a bleeding heart for the tired hungry sick outside our borders. The alternative is that vaunted racial and cultural homogeneity, in a desolate town with no opportunities with not a young person in sight.

Being gay was also considered a mental illness in the DSM 50 years ago, that's not my metric. Sex is your chromosomes, gender is your social role. Trans is when there's a mismatch, and you got XX but want to shake people's hands, or you got XY but want to wear makeup. Cis Frenchmen in the 1700s wore heels and makeup for status but still carried XY chromosomes-- gender roles change over time, they aren't determined by sex, they are determined socially, by society. In the land of the free, shouldn't we let people decide what social role they want to play? A man by birth deciding she wants to live as a woman and take her trans girlfriend's girldick shouldn't affect you, a god-fearing bible thumper who preaches that anything other than missionary with a dick and vagina is a sin. Nobody is forcing you to have gay trans furry sex, so why do you want to force them out of existence?
Trans women get harassed in men's restrooms, they are safer in women's restrooms. The data shows that young women have more to fear from being harassed at home by their dad than by a trans woman in the bathroom. But you wouldn't suggest banning dads from homes right?

It's common for conservatives to claim they don't support trump but then vote for him. They do that because they don't want to admit they are racist or misogynistic, or they don't want to defend Trump's pedophilia, corruption, authoritarianism, or failed economic strategies. It's hard to defend that, I get it. But then don't vote for him.
The problem with calling things racist is, the country itself isn't really that racist compared to other countries (also no one really gives a shit anymore because when everything is "racist" no one cares and doesn't take any of you seriously). My God, do some international travel if you haven't. Go to Asia and tell me how "welcoming" they are; it's laughable the delusions of most people who think this way. Are there racist people here? Sure. But if you isolate and shun them constantly and never actually attempt to have dialogue, how in the world can people who think like you ever have a chance to make an actual point over the screams about how bad they are?
The Biden bill I have heard of; I agree it was nothing but politics in an effort to take credit for the crackdown. However, the number of people who came here in the first 2.5-3 years was astronomical. It was towards the end of his term he decided to even attempt an actual crackdown on the illegals coming in.
With a wife immigrating here (legally) from Pakistan, I have actual skin in the game. His idea of restricting LEGAL immigration has gone wayyyy overboard. It's awful and a detriment to us.
Racial homogeny? Just like the hyperbolic statements that lefties are commies is wrong, so is this. Most average people don't think this. But what I will say is a growing sentiment, is the idea that multiculturalism is an abject failure. (yes my wife is from Pakistan, but she is Christian, not Muslim which means she actually respects the values of our country generally and wants to assimilate). It truly is. Islam is a threat to western society. Just like in the past when the lefties sparked revolutions, once the people pulling the strings with them as pawns are done, they will be culled; the difference is this time it will likely be Islam. They will use the retarded leftists who think they are doing something good and destroy them or force convert them. It's in the very book they abide by, and historically, it's a fact not only from Islam, but also communistic revolts.
Not liking certain cultures isn't racist. Some cultures are better than others. Having traveled to the middle east, while most people on a personal level are great (being in their homes etc.) the greater society at large is trash. Cutting in line, not following actual laws, rampant rape, actual racism and hatred of foreigners etc. It's not racist to say some cultures are shit and others are less shit; one could even get specific and conclude that there are redeemable parts of those cultures too. A lot of people on the right do want CULTURAL homogeny; just like every single other country in the world you are expected to assimilate. Somehow that has become "racist." Yes some of these retards want racial homogeny and deserve to be called out for it but most do not.
I don't disagree that we benefit from immigration, if done properly. The plummeting birthrate, to be honest, it's a very deep subject that I don't want to touch at this time for the sake of brevity.
Why should 50% of the population have to deal with dicks in the restrooms? Why does the comfort/safety of 1% (roughly) outweigh the comfort/safety of the large number of women complaining about it? Your dad analogy is fallacious and a false equivalence. Being a father =/= trans issue and is a bad example.
It still is a mental health issue. I do not care how you repackage it. The overwhelming majority of trans people have coexisting mental health disorders and rampant suicide even with "treatment." Do we reinforce schizophrenics in their hallucinations; or dementia patients? No that' standard healthcare 101 ( I work in healthcare). It's not a matter of freedom to do as you please, it's a matter of forcing others to believe it too. When you try to legislate that when the majority of people don't want it, THAT's the biggest issue with most. The delusions of 1% should not dictate something antithetical to actual truth. Trans women are NOT women, they are trans women; the stupid slogan in of itself is a contradiction. As long as people try to approach this issue in this way, it will be a losing fight.
Also, the data on same sex households trying to rear children are not promising and in many cases quite damaging. Women and men are complimentary.
Also these progressive "havens" like Norway, Sweden, and Finland have banned and/or restricted gender surgery. That should tell you something.
