blood boil kills packs faster than the cast delay on fire skills even lets them hit, and has twice the siphon because it maxes engorge
each tainted fireball does more damage than apocalypse


had they kept blood boil radius the same as live I would agreed with you, but ptr blood boil radius is garbage and you have to keep an eye on your pet life lol. totally not worth it, if I remember correctly your pet kill dont count as your kill so siphon is pointless.

well you're in luck because they kept the blood boil radius the same, its exactly the same range on PTR as it was on bnet current patch.
the only thing they changed was the tooltip. Same guys who 'capped blood oath at 50%' :bouncy:

pet kills from tainted don't give siphon mana, but blood boil kills do. no reason to care about demon life with tainted, you can engorge every 20+ casts or just resummon

not from my experience, literally dont effect monster beyond your character aura radius. unless they changed it some how before I stop playing ptr. the range of blood boil on ptr are hot garbage vs live, I one shot thing all the time with in 10-15 yard radius on live. it might have something to do with demon nerf who knows, but game play wise ptr definitely not as smooth as live. and definitely wouldn't top firelock in terms of clearing speed.

You must be playing a different ptr than some of us if you think bb radius didn't change. I'm rocking a level 95 bb this season and been testing ptr bb, regardless of tooltip the radius nerf is quite noticeable....

I tested it repeatedly and found the tooltip changed but the actual radius was completely unchanged
So unless they put some secret server-side only no-download patch for blood boil in the days after I tested it, there's no way it changed
I specifically tested for exactly that radius, doing a comparison of tile distance for blood boil on PTR, blood boil on bnet, and nova on bnet because we were also comparing nova/bb aoe (bb is about 1 tile larger radius because of how aoe collisions extend the 8 radius on nova vs ~10 on bb being center to center)

this is what it looked like;



testing vs spire since its nice and immobile and can be hit with sunder for nova anyway, trying to line up X axis and find furthest tile I can hit from
and I also confirmed that the patch had been applied to the version I was testing, because blood boil radius was listed as nerfed on the tooltip and demons were very plainly nerfed with lower hp / no conviction / couldn't bind super uniques and sigil lethargy does literally nothing

I'm getting half the radius of nova or 1/3, thats the experience via bloodboil on ptr. and on live its about nova radius

I just reinstalled PTR patch just to double check, now its offline only but still includes the changes and it clearly still has the radius of nova, same test vs lightning spire just now
says 4 radius on tooltip, clearly hits from 10 yards away



Unless they did some silent server-side only fuckery, that somehow only applied part of the patch, I can't see how it would have changed
go test it right now its identical to radius of live bnet patch

I'll test it comes next ptr rotation, or when the patch goes live. btw you still using demon, its feint build. pointless to include a demon as test subject, summon 3 feint and go test it

well there's a very clear reason to use a demon here, and I had to respec to put 1 point bind demon just to have it- size 3 demons don't move as you teleport around. They are immobile until you step off them because you're overlapping all their collisions, and they also stop all your other minions from moving
can't test radius as easily with goats/defilers who all move around and while tainted are size 3 / large they also instantly kill the spire with fireballs so yea

Current build for PTR notes as is, is to be 20 tainted 20 boil 20 engorge 20 oath 20 mastery, 1 siphon 1 sigil death, 0 consume (get it from baalos), 0 bind demon (don't use it at all). And it doesn't max out until level 99 exactly :bonk: so you NEED to lose damage somewhere at 95ish, granted sigil is pretty lame and gay
